Name:
Willow Ray'mond
Age:
5 years old
Hair:
It used to be blond, a sunny color really. But once the infection hit, her hair started to turn grayish-white. But since she was not fully exposed to the virus, she still has a bit of blond mixed in with the whites and grays of the infection. It is short, and straight, barely even shoulder length.
Eyes:
They used to be a pretty blue, light and full of life. Now they strike horror into all who see them (except her brother.) They are an amber-yellow with a tint of red around the pupils. Although they are a frightening color, they are still full of life and excitement.
However, her strain of the virus makes her cry sometimes, so it is a frequent sight to see them watery and a little teary. But that just adds on to her ability to attract people.
Height:
Short. She’s 5! So I guess, about 3 feet or so. She’s very petite though, perfect for riding on her zombie brother’s back.
Clothes:
Hunter and Willow’s parents never really cared what they wore so it was up to Hunter to do the shopping for her. Although he would spoil her with sun dresses, she was always surprising him by stealing his sweatshirts.
Admiration for her brother always led her to wear an oversized hoodie over those cute dresses. He finally gave up on trying convincing her that little girls don’t normally wear such things and got her a small grey hoodie of her own.
The day she was pulled into Rapture she was wearing her tattered hoodie (littered with punctures from bullets but the one obvious tear was the three lined claw mark that stretched diagonally across the back) over a yellow dress that was ripped at the knees. She was wearing some beat up sneakers and old socks.
Around her wrist was a bracelet that Hunter had made her as thanks for the one she gave him.
Behavior:
Willow is sweet. She absolutely loves her brother more than anything in the world. She is innocent even after having experienced many trials for her age. Her father left when she was just a baby and her mother was an alcoholic. Hunter was all she really had. She always had a cheery aspect on life and made friends with everyone (including a troubled young girl named Alma, whom Hunter did not trust and had to frequently contend with for Willow’s attention).
However, when Hunter was taken from her, she had receded into the instincts of the virus. She became untruthful, distant and shut in. She was alone, with her mother killed by zombies and her brother kidnaped, but that spark within her never died. She had become determined and kept her humanity alive through that strive to live. So she became more clever. She lured the people who were immune to the virus by crying. Who would suspect a little girl of being a flesh eating monster? They didn’t.
History/time period:
She was from 2005, New York. Willow had a rather abnormal history. Her father was gone, her mother gone mentally, and her brother was the only one willing to take care of her. The siblings clicked immediately and were inseparable ever since she was born. Hunter even took her to school on an almost daily basis. She would hide in his backpack until a teacher figured out that it wasn’t Hunter’s books that he was carrying around.
She spent most of her time with her big brother. She would be his only comfort most times though his school years when everything seemed so heavy and hopeless to him. She would hug and talk to him about her day until she made him laugh, which would in turn make her happy.
She was caring toward her mother even though the feelings were rarely returned and she hated it when her mother and brother would fight. Once it got to the point where Hunter was yelling curses to their mother, Willow would typically start to cry; which stopped him immediately.
It was obvious to anyone who met the pair that they would always be together.
… but then the virus hit. The two siblings had come home earlier that day after all the warnings they had heard all day, only to find that the infection hit their part of the city. As soon as Hunter opened the door they were met with the grotesque scene of their mother lying dead and half-eaten on her couch.
Hunter wanted to get his sister out of the city, rushing through the crowded streets of panicked people. He tried to take a back alley that he knew of… but that was the biggest mistake of his life. After the run-in with a few crazed, infected humans, Hunter was able to escape with his sister but not without bite wounds.
They experienced different transformations. While Hunter became a ‘jumper’ Willow had become what the survivors called a “siren”. Hunter watched in tormented agony as his sweet, harmless little sister became a killing machine. Her eyes changed to a hardened amber, her hair became almost lifeless, and her fingers became pointed at the ends, turning into claws that were literally designed for shredding. But worst of all, his new instincts told him to avoid his beloved sister. She was dangerous. She was a creature that could easily kill him. She had new strength; her small frame was capable of withstanding bullets (well... poorly aimed bullets at least). She had even crumpled the side of a car once during a fit of rage with one clawed hand.
They had been infected for a week when Hunter was taken. They had accidently angered some heavily armed military men and were running away when the light surrounded them. He shoved her out of the ring of light and disappeared, leaving her to fend for herself against the men and their tanks. Luckily the virus took care of the situation; leaving a trail of blood and smoke behind the girl as she walked away, crying out for her brother.
She was lonely without him. She needed him. Sure she was able to catch her own food but it never tasted the same without her big brother. She told herself she’d jump into the next circle of light she saw. Little did she know that, that circle of light would find her… and bring her to the hellish city of Rapture; the same city that Hunter prayed that his sister never be brought to.
