Name:
Zack Anderson
Age:
20
Hair:
Short, and a silvery white color but with black and grey specks throughout the lengths like pepper. It used to be a dark black when he wasn’t infected. But it slowly started to grow grey then eventually white as the virus took over. It’s messy with permanent cowlicks sticking up everywhere. But it is mostly hidden underneath his *gasp!* hood. But he removes his hood often because he likes to look around free of obstruction.
Eyes:
None. Since the infection at least. He is the same “breed” of zombie as Hunter. But he was exposed to the virus longer than the teen and he reached a stage in the morphing process at which he started to claw out his eyes. Long scars are littered around his empty eye sockets. However, he does have a sense of humanity, just like Hunter, so he hid his shame at his loss of control behind a satin cloth which is a coppery orange color (not that he would ever see the color since he’s blind.)
Height:
Zack is about 5 foot 9.
Clothes:
The “leaping” breed of zombies like to wear hoodies. They always seem to be the same type of people too. Zack, like Hunter, was sort of a hoodlum. However, he was a bit of an oddball. He wears a hooded jacket with a zipper down the middle. It is a bright white with red stripes that remind one of a “where’s Waldo” style shirt. But these stripes are much thicker and less frequent. This of course makes Zack the most obvious zombie the virus has created.
Besides this, Zack wears similar jeans as Hunter (slim yet not skinny jeans).
However, he does not wear shoes. Because he is more advanced in his virus transformation than Hunter, he had to shed his Converse when claws started to grow from his toes. Now his toes are nothing but sharp claws, which come in handy when he wants to climb and jump.
Side Note: this isn’t exactly an article of clothing, but Zack still has his iPod from when he was bitten. So yeah, he likes to chill out sometimes and listen to his music. He even listens to it when he’s fighting and just uses his keen sense of smell to at least avoid an enemy’s attack. It is a common scene to find him with bright blue wires dangling from the ear buds while he listens to his music. Another common sight is Fontaine smacking him upside the head for ignoring an order thanks to the loud music.
Behavior:
He’s mostly crazy. Zack’s moods are fairly sporadic. He is clever and in his human days, he was the leader of a gang of sorts. His nickname was “La Volpe” (in other words, “the Fox”) because he was smart enough to maneuver around the law, even if it confronted him.
When he was going through the transformations, he fought hard to keep his mind sharp. It turned out well since he still has his smarts. Although his mind is still overcome by instinct, he is still smarter than most zombies. But as soon as he drops into his ‘hunter mode’ he is just as much of a drooling monster as any other member of the walking dead one could find roaming the streets of New York.
Anyway, Zack is energetic and mostly animalistic just like Hunter. But he is a bit more mature when he thinks about strategy. He does much less mindless charging then his younger kin member and much more thoughtful attacks as if here were playing a game of chess.
History/time period:
Just as the other undead members, Zack is from 2005. He was a small time gang member, the leader in fact. He was never really accepted by society, which was why he did everything he could to go against it. He never killed however. He told his followers to avoid taking lives. He said it was because it was not necessary but the real reason was because his mother was murdered when he was young and it scarred him for life.
Zack was so against society that he even embraced being openly gay. He would tease male police officers by hitting on them or anybody else who managed to catch his attention. But there were rumors that he was a very affectionate lover.
But then the virus hit and his little piece of freedom was transformed by fear and terror. He was bitten by one of his gang members and suffered through the changing on his own. He held up in an old building, keeping his mind sharp by playing chess against himself (which created some of his schizophrenic tendencies he has now). But the more he changed, the more he found the need to eat. He found it alarming that he was only attracted to the rotting bodies, or even better, the live human that would run away from him when he ventured out of his safe house. It was one unfortunate day that he fell to the temptations and attacked some misfortunate girl. The murder he committed broke his last strand of humanity, at least that’s what he convinced himself to think.
After that he scratched out his eyes, making sure the last image he saw was the bloodied form of the girl he killed as a constant reminder. He hid his scars with the silk scarf she wore and used the coppery satin fabric as a blindfold.
It was only days after that when Fontaine’s light surrounded him and took him to Rapture. He joined forces with Fontaine within the first few days of his inhabiting the city. He really didn’t find the place all that intimidating and in fact found it a lot better than the hellish city of New York. (Although one run in with a Big Daddy has caused him to fear the metallic creatures. But he would never tell anyone that.)
However, unlike everyone else, Zack is not held by Fontaine by some threat since he literally has nothing to threaten. Zack is working under Fontaine simply out of free will. The feared leader of the city could probably threaten his life and Zack wouldn’t care. He would in fact welcome it in some dark abyss inside this poor zombie. But he does follow orders for the sake of Hunter and Caramello, the two people he considers his only friends in this crazy city. Even though Cara is in fact older than him, he considers her like a little sister and Hunter a mix of a younger brother and a playful toy (he enjoys making his fellow zombie uncomfortable by hitting on him in sweet or sometimes suggestive manners.)
Zack has made himself comfortable in the upside-down society that is Rapture and proves to be a dangerous threat to the survivors which continue to challenge his master, Fontaine.
